Dear Jaggard Families,
Some of our students participated in our annual witches brew. Witches’ Brew is a beloved Jaggard tradition celebrated amongst the 4th and 5th graders in Mrs. Motto and Miss Valerio's classes. During group speech/occupational therapy sessions with Mrs. Mercer, Dr. Yeo and Ms. Abrams, students used their creativity and language skills to write their own creepy recipes and shared them by reading aloud to their peers. This fun and festive event combines imagination, communication, and learning while keeping a spooky tradition alive that has been going on at Jaggard for the last 25 years!
Our PTA hosted a wonderful book fair this past week, and our amazing teachers held a great Math Night alongside it. Thank you to everyone who made both these events such a success. Special thanks to Ms. Warren, Ms. McGinley, and Ms. Salerno for organizing Math Night.
At Math Night we also had a parent presentation on cybersecurity basics from our music teacher and Jaggard Tech Coach, Ms. Crescenzo. Please check out the presentation linked below for helpful reminders on keeping our families safe online.
Looking ahead, this week we kick off Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s largest drug-use prevention awareness campaign, which schools across New Jersey take part in every year. Red Ribbon Week encourages students to make healthy, drug-free choices. Students show their commitment by wearing red and taking part in themed activities. We’ll have a theme day each day (schedule below), ending with our Halloween parade on Friday at 1:15. Please see the information below about the parade.
There is also information about a poster contest sponsored by Prevention Plus of Burlington County. If your child would like to enter, please have them bring their poster to Mrs. Rice by 10/30. Feel free to reach out to her with any questions.
Lastly, don’t forget to register for a conference on Genesis and if you are interested in having a veteran attend our veterans day ceremony, please complete the form below.
I look forward to seeing many of you at Trunk or Treat this Tuesday and the Parade on Friday!
Soar High!
