Dear Jaggard Families,
Trunk or Treat and Halloween
Thank you to all of our families for coming out to celebrate Halloween last week! From the amazing turnout at Trunk or Treat to the great crowd cheering on our students at the annual Halloween parade, it was wonderful to see our Jaggard community come together at the nest. I am grateful to the PTA for their continued support of these events, and to our staff members who go above and beyond to build connections with students outside the classroom. These moments help make Jaggard the special community it is.
Pictured above: Our rock star related arts team, who took the cone hat I wear every morning to the next level by breaking out full cone costumes to kick off Halloween. They certainly set the tone for an awesome day and put a bunch of smiles on the faces of students and adults in the morning!
Ms. Bailey and Ms. DiDemonico Celebrate Pumpkin Day
Ms. Bailey’s and Ms. DiDemonico's first grade classes joined together to celebrate Pumpkin Day, a day centered around all things pumpkin, from painting pumpkins to singing songs about them. It was absolutely amazing! All the students were actively engaged and had a wonderful time while practicing social skills (CARES), self-control, turn-taking, following directions, group participation, and imitation. The day concluded with “Going on a Ghost Hunt,” which included fun with glow sticks. It was awesome to see the students working together and learning from each other. Special thanks to Ms. Bailey and Ms. DiDemonico for putting this together. I’m excited to see what they come up with next!
Veterans Day Assembly
This is your last chance to sign up to bring a veteran to school for our Veterans Day assembly! If you have a special person in your life who is a veteran, whether a family member or a close friend, we would love to honor them at our celebration. We are looking forward to a wonderful assembly. Please use the link to sign-up below.
Schedule Reminder for This Week and Conferences
Please note this week’s school schedule: Half days on 11/2, and 11/4. Dismissal is at 12:15. School will be closed for students on 11/3, 11/5, and 11/6.
I look forward to seeing many of you in the building this week for conferences. To help our teachers stay on schedule, please arrive a few minutes early. Conferences are a great chance to hear about your child’s progress and discuss how we can strengthen the partnership between home and school.
While you’re here, please check the lost and found rack by the main office, which will be out all week. ;)
As the weather turns colder, please label your child’s gloves, hats, and coats with their name so they can find their way back if misplaced.
November Spirit Calendar
Be sure to check out the spirit calendar for the month of November. We kick things off tomorrow, November 2nd, by wearing blue in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month.
Soar High!
